Samara Michelle  left Detroit and headed for Atlanta GA  at the age of 18 to pursue
a career in teaching.  Samara went on to receive a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in
Health and Physical Education at Clark Atlanta University and a Master’s degree
in Educational Leadership from Georgia State University.

With a strong desire to give back, Ms Michelle took a position as the life skills
instructor at an Alternative school in Atlanta. This school served children that were
released from their traditional school programs due to behavior or lack of
attendance.  For five years  Samara served as the Behavior Interventionist for the
Cobb County Alternative School

Samara was at the forefront of student activities including partnership with Junior
achievement and Blacks United for Youth Ms Michelle quickly became frustrated
with the increasing cuts student activities and  same arts programs  that allowed
her to excel when she was a student.
In 2006, Samara left the school system to fight the battle from the outside. She
opened Journey Performing Arts Center and began to privately tutor students to
achieve academic success in math
